The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, Xhelal Svecla, called on the local Serbs to immediately remove the barricades in the north.
Sveçla made the call during a joint conference with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti this Sunday in Prishtina.
According to him, criminal gangs cannot be allowed to hinder the circulation and free movement of citizens.
“Since the barricades set up yesterday have not been removed yet, I call on Serbian citizens not to become part of the organizations of these criminal groups, while I call on the organizers to immediately remove the barricades. We cannot and will not allow criminal gangs to organize and obstruct the circulation and free movement of our citizens”, he stressed.
The European Union’s Mission for the Rule of Law in Kosovo, EULEX, has confirmed that a bomb was thrown at an observation patrol on Saturday evening, near Rudara, in the municipality of Zveçan.
EULEX announced that no officer of the Specialized Police Unit was injured and no material damage was caused, but it called such attacks unacceptable. Among other things, EULEX announced that it will continue its work for maintaining stability in Kosovo and for the safety of citizens.
