August is forecasted to be under a heatwave with slightly cooler temperatures than those registered during July.
Meteorologist Hakil Osmani told Euronews Albania on Monday that we will no longer experience heatwaves as prolonged as in July. While there might still be some hot spells, they are not expected to reach the same high temperatures.
Osmani also made a weekly weather prediction, stating that sunny weather will prevail during the week, but there may be cloudiness and even rain during the weekend.
“Until Friday, we will have stable weather. We expect maximum temperatures to reach around 37 to 40 degrees Celsius in some areas. As for the rest of August, the possibility of heatwave occurrences is not excluded. When Albania is affected by these heatwaves, temperatures can reach up to 40-41 degrees Celsius. Thankfully, we currently don’t have any signals indicating that there will be a heatwave. However, the second half of August might bring the presence of heatwave conditions, but they are not expected to be as prolonged as the previous one that affected Albania. These heatwaves in August may last for about a week. For this week, we will experience mostly clear weather with very few clouds. There is a possibility of increased cloudiness and even rain during the weekend in a significant part of the western lowlands,” said Osmani.
Temperatures in the last two weeks of July soared to over 40 degrees in some cities, causing more citizens to seeking medical help.
Experts suggest avoiding going out during midday, when peak temperatures are usually registered, and recommend high consumption of water to help with the dehydration.
