The average gross monthly salary for an employee in our country has reached 66 thousand ALL. In December 2021, it was 59,600, so there is an increase of 11%, which turns out to be greater than the general inflation of 7%.
So according to INSTAT’s calculations, salaries have increased more than prices. In the private sector, the growth is greater. This is for two reasons, due to the increase in the minimum wage and the efforts of employers to keep employees at work.
This is seen in sectors such as agriculture, trade, construction and industry, where employees are receiving an average of 6,000 ALL more than last year every month. Agriculture is the sector that has the largest increase in the average salary 18% compared to a period of a year ago. But, despite the positive trend, in our country the gap between sectors remains high.
The data show that an employee in banks, insurance companies, have an average salary up to 3.5 times higher than those employed in agriculture, construction and services.
