The government collected 500 million euros more in the first 10 months of this year compared to the same period last year.
Last year, from January to October, the Ministry of Finance reported 3.5 billion euros in revenue, while for the period January-October 2022, the revenue collected exceeded 4 billion euros.
The increase in prices is the main factor that has directly influenced the increase in VAT collections.
The pace of growth in receipts through September generally reflected the level of price growth, indicating that consumption did not fall.
However, the data for the month of October show that the income increased by 18 million euros, or 4.5 percent compared to October last year, at a time when inflation in October was 8.3 percent.
The figures suggest in this case, that in October Albanians reduced their consumption as a reflection of the increase in prices.
