The Police and Customs Cooperation Center will aim to exchange information in time, with the aim of preventing and combating cross-border crimes.

Employees of the Albanian and Greek Border Police will work in this center.

During the ceremony, Deputy Ministers Mahila and Ikonomou emphasized the importance of further strengthening the cooperation between the two police and customs authorities, in order to further improve the tradition established last year, for creating as many legal facilities as possible for citizens entering and exiting at this border crossing point.

Also, special importance in this cooperation is the prevention and attack of cross-border crimes, mainly drug trafficking and the smuggling goods.

The Kakavije Police and Customs Cooperation Center will enable the collection of information and its exchange in a quick time between the two police, the elimination of some procedures that created delays and the increase of opportunities to identify, prevent and attack cross-border crimes. The opening of this center shows the determination of both governments to jointly fight cross-border crimes and to offer citizens a highest quality service.
