Murder of Santiago Malko, Ilir Selmani sentenced to 28 years in prison

The Special Court has sentenced 2 defendants to 35 years in prison for the case of the murder of ex-policeman Santiago Malko in the summer of 2019 in Tirana.

The Court for Corruption and Organized Crime sentenced Ilir Selman to 28 years in prison, while Elvis Gaçaj to 7 years in prison.

He has been charged for the possession of weapons without permission in several cases and leaving the place where he has been serving his sentence.

While Selmani is accused of complicity in the murder of the former operative. Earlier, the citizen Blendi Teta was also convicted as an accomplice in the murder.
