The Foreign Minister, Olta Xhacka has reacted again regarding the tensions between Kosovo and Serbia and has asked the EU and the USA to make it possible for the leaders of both countries to sit down for talks.

Through a post on Twitter, Xhacka stated that the rhetoric of war must be abandoned and that Serbia must understand once and for all that Kosovo is an independent state.

“Neither the Serbian army will enter Kosovo, nor the Kosovo army will enter any armed conflict! It is all about a display of domestic politics and has nothing to do with the interests of ordinary people. This is extremely dangerous and must be stopped for the sake of our entire region. Serbia must stop supporting, with unjustifiable reasons, the setting up of barricades in the north of Kosovo and finally understand that the so-called “Kosova & Metohija” is over. Forever! The barricades do not protect any Serb in Kosovo, they only undermine our common future. Albanians and Serbs are the two largest nations of this region and they are “destined” to find a stable path toward a common future. We call on the two leaders to sit down and talk and we call on the EU/US to insist on this. Anything other than dialogue is doomed to failure,” Xhacka wroteon Twitter.
