Agron Shehaj, one of the contenders for the top post of the Democratic Party, invited all the party’s members to vote not only for the new leader but to choose the winner of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
“These elections increase the value of the Democratic Party, but if we have low standards the entire process might come back like a boomerang. It is important who will win out of the candidates, but even more important is the credibility of the Democratic Party”, Shehaj said.
Earlier during the day, Shehaj took it to social media to complain over alleged irregularities with the list of voters, while several observers appointed by him had been removed from the voting stations.
Polls opened today at 8 AM, while voting will continue until 7 PM. There are over 75,000 DP members entitled to vote for the party’s new leader with a 4-year mandate.
