Serbian President, Aleksandar Vučič, has warned that the internationals will take the text of the Statute of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo, for which he says that “they will not ask us anything”.
The Serbian leader added that his country is “doing its best to maintain peace and we are always ready for compromises”.
“I expect many difficult situations for us in the coming period and I am almost certain that the Westerners will come up with a genius idea to offer us the text of the charter, about which they will not ask us at all. Therefore, I expect many, many problems. And this is not something new. There is a lot of nervousness about the situation in Ukraine and some think that we should pay the price for not meeting their expectations”, said Vučić in Valeve, Serbia.
For the implementation of the Agreement for the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo, there are currently four draft-statutes and draft-visions: Draft-statute of the Management Team, draft-vision of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, draft-statute of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and the draft statute for the Association drawn up by the German organization Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES).
Vučič says that everyone knows who wants to make the situation tense.
“Everyone in the world knows who is trying to escalate the situation, everyone in the world knows who is playing war…” Vučič said.
“We did our best to maintain peace, always ready for compromises – this is a beautiful and good word, not a bad word, just as conversation is a good word and not an act of regret,” said Vučič today during a public address.
