In a ceremony organized in Elbasan, Euronews Albania journalist Thimi Samarxhiu won the “Journalist of the Year” award.

Samarxhiu has been honored for his “contribution to direct reporting of events from the war front in Gaza”. This is the second award that the Euronews Albania journalist has been awarded this year and he undoubtedly feels honored.

“It was a surprise that Infoweb Media, Elbasan Municipality, Elbasan District Council chose me for the journalist of the year. And of course it belongs to all the staff of Euronews for those difficult days that we all went through. It is a very great assessment when it is given by fellow journalists and it is one of the most beautiful awards that a journalist can receive”, said Samarxhiu.

In Elbasan, in addition to the journalist of the year, at the ceremony, well-known figures and personalities were also appreciated at the national level, and not only. Nevila Nika was awarded as “Historian of the Year”, Kim Mehmeti was awarded as “Publicist of the Year”, Kreshnik Ajazi and other figures who have stood out with their work.

“To tell the truth, when you are evaluated, you are left without words to express it.
