The third edition of the Check-In Fest is revitalizing Gjirokastra, attracting residents of different ages as well as foreign tourists who continue to visit the historic city during these September days.

“Activities in the city of Gjirokastër never cease. Today marks the beginning of the third edition of the Check-In Fest, a festival that will last for three consecutive days. It’s another reason that attracts even more visitors to our city and adds more life filled with cultural activities,” the Director of Tourism and Activities in the Municipality of Gjirokastra, Lejda Çeli tells Euronews Albania.

Part of the three-day event program includes a variety of activities. These range from artistic performances by singers and musical groups to off-road sports tours in the surroundings of Gjirokastër, as well as public forums on cultural heritage and tourism topics.

“This edition has some special features, some innovations. Check-In is a festival that encompasses culture, music, and sports. These include tours where 4×4 cars travel along beautiful and picturesque paths near Gjirokastër, near the city, to promote not only the tourism that Gjirokastër offers as a city, such as the Bazaar, the Castle, etc., but also other alternatives that can be done outside the city,” says Indrit Yllberaj, coordinator of Check-In Fest.

Throughout the summer season, numerous cultural and artistic activities took place in the city of Gjirokastër, serving as attractions for both locals and tourists.
