From January 4, all those who will cross the Thumane-Kashar axis will have to pay.
6 months after the opening of this axis, the concession company has started the application of fees that start from 2.5 euros but are differentiated according to the category of vehicles.
At the payment points, the conversion from euro to lek will be done based on the rate of the Bank of Albania, in this way, a small car will pay 250 lek for crossing the Thumanë-Kashar highway.
Cars with 2-3 axles and height over 2.2 meters will pay 620 Lek and vehicles with 4 or more axles will pay 870 Lek.
Meanwhile, the fee to be paid by every vehicle that crosses Rinas – Kashar and vice versa varies from 80 Lek for small cars to 270 Lek for heavy tonnage vehicles. As for the Rinas – Thumanë axis and vice versa, it varies from 120 Lek per tricycle to 600 Lek for heavy tonnage vehicles.
The fee will be revised annually according to exchange rate fluctuations.
The Thumanë-Kashar road is part of the Adriatic-Ionian corridor and was opened for traffic on June 30, 2024. The segment has a length of 21 kilometers and is the first Category A highway, which means not only European road construction standards, but also a different speed limit than the other road axes of the country.
Its trail starts from Thumana, 150 meters inside the existing 4-lane highway, which connects Milot with Thumana in the direction of Fushë-Kruja. The designed speed for this road is 130 kilometers/hour, while its integral part are 14 underpasses, 12 bridges, 3 overpasses and emergency lanes on each side.
