On the eve of the end-of-year holidays, the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, congratulated the citizens of the capital through a video message.

Evaluating the year we are leaving, Veliaj emphasized the common achievements of citizens in building a more united and solid community.

Veliaj recalled that 2025 will be a special year for Tirana, as the Albanian capital will hold the title “Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue”, offering extraordinary opportunities for promoting cultural values ​​and building bridges of cooperation.

“The coming year is particularly important for us, because Tirana, our heart, our capital, will hold the title of “Mediterranean Capital of Culture and Dialogue”. It is a rare opportunity to promote the value of Tirana, its own cultural values, to create a dialogue platform that unites people from all over the Mediterranean. Let’s use this opportunity to build bridges of cooperation and understanding between us”, he said.

In his message, the mayor made a special wish for the grandparents of Tirana, announcing that from January 1, pensioners will have the opportunity to travel for free on all city buses.

“I also want to make a special, special wish for all the grandparents, all the pensioners of Tirana, who from January 1 will travel with a free subscription on all the buses of our city. You are the foundation of this society and the help we offer you is a sign of respect, gratitude, appreciation for all your contribution, throughout your life. Let’s remember that every action, whether small or big, contributes to the strengthening and cooperation of solidarity between us”, he stressed.

Veliaj invited the citizens to show solidarity during these holidays, opening the doors to those who need it most and creating a warm family atmosphere for everyone.

“During these holidays, let’s open our doors to those who need it most, invite into our families those who may feel abandoned and alone, and celebrate together all that we have achieved in these years. On this eve, let’s make a promise, for each other and for ourselves, and for our city. A promise to be better, to love a little more, to help each other a little stronger and to build a brighter future for our Tirana and everyone who finds themselves and sees the future here “, concluded Veliaj.

Dear citizens, today when we are on the eve of the New Year, I want to take a few seconds to wish you all from the bottom of my heart happy holidays, success and prosperity for you, your family and all your relatives. The holidays are an extraordinary time of reflection, love and togetherness for all. As the lights illuminate our city, let’s give some importance to the warmth that comes from everyone’s hearts.

This year has been challenging for many of us. But just as winter brings its coldness, it also reminds us that after every storm and every downpour, there is always a new morning, bringing hope and tremendous opportunity. During this year we, as fellow citizens, have achieved a lot, with the contribution of each one, we have helped each other in difficult moments and we have built a stronger community, a more solidary Tirana, a more united city.
