Prime Minister Edi Rama called the dragging of the association and the introduction of mayors of municipalities in the north elected by boycotted votes a strategic mistake of Kosovo.
In the joint press conference with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Rama said that the way should be opened for new elections in the north that would legitimize the new mayors of 4 municipalities.
“The draft is a positive contribution from my side, and it is not said that the parties will accept it. If this was a contribution on behalf of Kosovo, then it would have no value. Because those who represent Kosovo speak for Kosovo and on its behalf. As I could not even consult with Vučić. Dragging the association is a strategic mistake and it is also a strategic mistake to drag the creation of conditions for Kosovo Serbs.
Just as I believe that the insistence on keeping in empty buildings, with police, mayors who were elected under boycott conditions, is another strategic mistake. I hope that the president and Serbia will make it clear that if the road opens for elections, they will be held there,” said Rama.
