In October 2025, tourism in Albania recorded strong growth, driven mainly by foreign visitors.

According to official INSTAT data, the total number of visitors accommodated in collective accommodation establishments increased by 39.1% compared to the same period a year earlier. This growth was dominated by non-resident visitors, who rose by 55.4%, while resident visitors recorded a more moderate increase of 5.8%.

Overnight stays in accommodation establishments also increased, but at a slower pace, specifically by 17.4% compared to October 2024. Nights spent by foreign visitors rose by 26%, while overnight stays by residents declined by 3.1%, indicating weaker domestic tourism activity during this month.

Foreign tourists accommodated in Albania during October 2025 came mainly from Kosovo, Italy, and Germany, followed by France and the United Kingdom. A significant share also came from other European countries and from outside Europe. This market structure confirms the expansion of the geographic origin of tourists and the strengthening of Albania’s position as an international destination beyond the summer season.

The increase in visitors was also reflected in the use of hotel capacity. The hotel room occupancy rate reached around 31.6%, up from 27.7% in October 2024, signaling improved performance of accommodation facilities. According to INSTAT, hotels and similar establishments continue to account for the main share of accommodation, followed by short-term rentals and alternative forms.

The data for October 2025 show that inbound tourism is increasingly extending beyond the summer season, while boosting domestic tourism and balancing stays throughout the year remain key challenges.
