Foreign tourists have spent 624 million euros in Albania during the first three months of the year. In 2022, the amount spent was 408 million euros.

Tourists have spent 624 million euros in Albania in just the first three months of this year. The amount in question shows that expenses have increased by 53% compared to the beginning of last year, when tourists left 408 million euros in our country. There are two reasons for this growth to such high levels. Higher influx of people coming and increased prices.

The number of foreigners entering our country has increased by 48% this beginning of the year. The general increase in prices, including those in tourist services, have also affected these cash flows, reports the Bank of Albania.

We recall that during 2022, tourists spent around 2.8 billion euros in the country, recording high levels.

Record spending levels are also reported by Albanians abroad, with 434 million euros in the first three months of 2023.

This makes the net balance between spending by tourists in Albania and Albanians abroad to reach 190 million euros, the highest level ever recorded in this period of the year.
