Albania’s trade with the region accounted for 10% of the volume of exchanges in the month of May. According to INSTAT data, Kosovo is the main export partner and the country with the most positive balance with an additional 2.7 billion ALL, while on the import side, most purchases are made in Serbia, a country with which we have a deficit of around 645 million ALL.
Meanwhile, with the neighbors of North Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania has a trade surplus.
According to the figures, Albania has increased its exports in value only with North Macedonia and Kosovo, with which it exchanged 3.8 billion ALL and 1.3 billion ALL, while in all other countries of the region the value of exports has decreased.
As for the value of imports, Albania has strengthened relations only with Kosovo, from which we received 1.15 billion lek of goods or 9% more than a year ago, while with other countries the value of imports has decreased from 11% with Montenegro up to 33% with Serbia.
