A tragic incident has occurred in France, where according to local media, an Albanian national is suspected of killing his former girlfriend. Reports indicate that the couple had recently separated after a long-term relationship.
The event took place in the city of Mulhouse, at a bar where the 33-year-old woman worked as a bartender. While opening the establishment on the morning of Saturday, October 22, she was attacked multiple times with a knife. Despite immediate medical intervention and being rushed to the hospital, the victim succumbed to her injuries.
The Mulhouse prosecutor’s office has confirmed that the suspected perpetrator — an Albanian citizen and the victim’s former partner — is currently wanted by police. The investigation has been entrusted to the judicial police.
According to preliminary information, the victim, who was born in Georgia and resided in Mulhouse, had lived with the suspect for about three years before their separation. Prosecutors stated that the woman had never filed any prior complaints or reports of domestic violence.
Security camera footage from the bar and surrounding area is being examined by investigators, while an autopsy of the victim’s body is expected to take place on the morning of Wednesday, October 29, at the Forensic Institute of Strasbourg.
An official investigation has been opened on charges of murder.
