Former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi will appear in court today.

The trial against them will continue with the hearing of the next witness from the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.

Three witnesses have been heard so far in the process. They’ve testified under strict protective measures and in sessions almost entirely closed to the public. Ten sessions are planned to be held this May.

A few days ago, the Panel of the Court of Appeal rejected the appeals of 20 people, to participate in this process as victims. They had appealed the decision of the court, where their request to participate in the court case of Thaçi and others was rejected.

The trial against the former KLA leaders started on April 3rd with the opening declarations of the parties. Thaçi, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi have pleaded not guilty to the charges of alleged war crimes, before the jury. They have been kept in the detention center in The Hague, since November 2020.
