Two ‘Black Hawk’ helicopters arrived in Albania this Saturday, which will be added to the country’s air force.
The news was made public by the American embassy in Tirana, where through a post on “X” it was underlined that the helicopters will help increase the capabilities of the Albanian Air Force.
The purchase of Black Hawk helicopters has been supported by more than 50 million dollars from the aid funds of the United States of America.
“Historical arrival of Albania’s first UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters. A United States C-17 transport aircraft arrived in Tirana today to deliver Albania’s first order for Black Hawk helicopters, supported by over $50 million in US aid funds. The new helicopters will help strengthen the capabilities of Albania’s air force and the ability to conduct medical evacuation, personnel recovery, search and rescue missions, as well as support NATO’s logistical movements for operations and exercises. The United States is proud of the strong partnership with Albania in the field of defense” – the announcement of the US embassy says.
