During the last 24 hours, two minor mothers gave birth in the maternity hospital of Korça, one of whom is a 14-year-old girl whose co-habitant was arrested by the police.

The head of Korca’s maternity ward, Mishel Papakozma, says that the health of the two mothers and their babies is good.

“There are two births, one by a 15-year-old mother and another by a 14-year-old mother. They gave birth normally.

On the other hand, Papakozma raises concern for girls of this age when he said that this is not the right age to become a mother.

“We have always said that it is good for girls to reach the age of maturity before they become mothers”, said Papakozma.

The second case concerns a 15-year-old girl from the city of Korça, a case for which the police have started the necessary investigations.
