Three people were arrested on Friday by the Kosovo Police, as they are suspected of being involved in the misuse of state reserves.
Two of them are officials at the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, while the third is the owner of a business in Pristina, who is said to be close to the Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti.
In the announcement of the special prosecutor’s office of Kosovo, which confirmed the arrests, it is said that the three arrested are suspected of the crimes of “Misuse of official duty”, as well as “Giving assistance in the commission of the criminal offense of Misuse of official duty”.
Meanwhile, the head of the Kosovo government has refused to speak about this issue even though he has been asked several times by journalists.
While Prime Minister Kurti ignored the media’s questions about the arrests.
The three arrested persons have also been mentioned in several intercepts that have been published by the media in Kosovo as being involved in the misuse of funds for the purchase of state reserves.
