The Embassy of the United States, Tirana on Thursday warned that nightly protests are continuing in the Albanian capital outside the Prime Minister’s Office, located on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard, between Skanderbeg Squareand Mother Teresa Square.

According to the embassy, demonstrations are expected to continue in the coming days and could potentially spread to other cities across the country. It noted that while protests and large public gatherings often begin peacefully, the situation can change rapidly.

The embassy warned that protest areas may see an increased police presence, road closures, traffic diversions and travel disruptions, particularly before and during demonstrations. It also cautioned that protests could expand to surrounding areas, including other government buildings.

The embassy urged U.S. citizens and the general public to avoid demonstrations, remain aware of their surroundings, minimise distractions such as using mobile phones or headphones in public, and monitor local media for updates.

It also advised people to have an emergency or exit plan and to maintain a low profile when travelling through areas where demonstrations may be taking place.
