August 24 marks Ukraine’s independence day, when the country declared independence from the Soviet Union. On the occasion of this day, several symbolic ceremonies were held in Tirana and congratulatory messages from foreign diplomats and local politicians were distributed.

A representative of the diplomatic corps in Tirana conducted a visit to the Ukrainian embassy which took place in the center of the capital on the street that has been renamed “Free Ukraine Street”.

Publishing some photos from the ceremony at the Ukrainian embassy, ​​the US diplomatic headquarters in Tirana writes that the struggle of Ukrainians for freedom and democracy is a powerful example for the world. Meanwhile, EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato said that the EU and its partners stand by you as you fight against Russian aggression, to protect your sovereignty and respect for international law.
