August 24 marks Ukraine’s independence day, when the country declared independence from the Soviet Union. On the occasion of this day, several symbolic ceremonies were held in Tirana and congratulatory messages from foreign diplomats and local politicians were distributed.

A representative of the diplomatic corps in Tirana conducted a visit to the Ukrainian embassy which took place in the center of the capital on the street that has been renamed “Free Ukraine Street”.

Publishing some photos from the ceremony at the Ukrainian embassy, ​​the US diplomatic headquarters in Tirana writes that the struggle of Ukrainians for freedom and democracy is a powerful example for the world. As they stand tall in the face of adversity, the rest of the world stands with them in solidarity and hope.

Meanwhile, EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato said that the EU and its partners stand by you as you fight against Russian aggression, to protect your sovereignty and respect for international law.

Congratulations for Ukraine’s independence day were also conveyed by the speaker of the Assembly, Elisa Spiropali, who emphasized that Albania has maintained and maintains a steadfast position in support of Ukraine, together with the USA, the EU, NATO, and the democratic world, in all forums and international organizations.
