In the first phase of registrations, 5 branches have closed registrations. Programs such as general medicine, dentistry, architecture, urban planning, interior design and design have fulfilled their quotas.
80% of the graduates have completed their registrations in both public and private universities. Over 16,000 of them do not want to change the branches they have won.
On the first day of deregistrations, so far there are only 100 requests to change branches.
In some districts, some branches are at risk of closure as they have 1 or 2 graduates registered. In Gjirokastër, the “Eqrem Çabej” university ranks last as the least requested institution. After 14 days of registration for the English branch in Gjirokastër, only 1 student was registered, while two students were registered in History-Geography. At a time when Albania is facing a high influx of tourists, young people refuse to be educated as tourist operators. In Elbasan, only 1 student is enrolled in the bio-chemistry branch and 1 in the tourist operator branch.
