The Ambassador of the United States of America in Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, has said that they expect the Government of Kosovo to fulfill its commitments and establish the legal framework to allow the holding of new elections in the four northern municipalities. Also, Hovenier has also underlined the demands given to the leaders of the Serbian List to participate in the new elections in the north, during their stay in Washington last week.

In addition, Hovenier reiterated the demands for the full extension of the situation in the North and the implementation of the Ohrid agreement.

“We demand that the Government of Kosovo fulfill its commitments and this was part of what was discussed in Washington, to establish the legal framework to allow the holding of new elections for the four northern municipalities and this was certainly part of the conversation that took place too,” he said.

He asked the Serbian List to play its role as a political party in a sovereign, democratic and independent Kosovo, as they do not consider it as a Serbian political party, but as a party of ethnic Serbs in Kosovo.
