The US ambassador to Serbia, Christopher Hill, fell prey to a verbal attack on the streets of Belgrade on Saturday evening.

“The killer is walking around Belgrade, cold as death”, “the killer of children”, “Kosovo and Metohija is part of Serbia”, “The Serbian people are with Russia” these are some of the calls with which the American ambassador in Serbia was attacked.

The incident happened while the American diplomat was walking in the streets of Belgrade with his wife.

The attack was organized by some women activists who during insulted also they filmed the Ambassador Hill, reminding him of the role he had in 1999 when NATO bombed Serbia.

Hill was one of the American negotiators who, together with a wide group of diplomats, tried to find a peaceful solution for Kosovo and Serbia. But, at that time, Milošević rejected all offers, making NATO’s bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia the only solution.

Hill started working as the US ambassador in Belgrade in March of last year, but due to the incidents and the situation in the north of Kosovo, his reputation among Serbs is very low and among some Serbian citizens he is accused of being part of the group of people who ordered the bombing of Serbia.
