American administration shares the same concerns as the Congress regarding the tensions in the north of Kosovo, a spokesman for the National Security Council told VOA.
“US Government officials, including the White House and the State Department, have been working closely with European Union partners to find a diplomatic solution to the recent events. They have engaged with the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo to promote the extension and renewed focus on the implementation of the normalization agreements signed at the beginning of this year”, said the spokesperson, underlining that “the normalization of relations, participation in democratic processes and respect for governance of the law will contribute to stability and security in the north of Kosovo”.
He made these comments while responding to the Voice of America about a letter that a group of Democratic and Republican senators addressed to the US President, Joe Biden, asking him to prioritize the worsening of the security situation between Kosovo and Serbia.
