The U.S. Embassy has welcomed the constitution of the Assembly and the formation of the new Government of Kosovo.

“We look forward to working with the new Government to advance our shared priorities, including regional peace, stability, and mutual economic prosperity,” the embassy said in a statement published on social media.

On February 11, members of parliament constituted the Assembly of Kosovo, electing Albulena Haxhiu as the new head of the legislative body.

A few hours later, the new Government of Kosovo was also voted in, led by Albin Kurti, head of the Vetëvendosje Movement – the winner of the early parliamentary elections held on December 28.
