Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina and ambassador to the UN, has officially announced this Tuesday her candidacy for the 2024 presidential elections in the United States of America.

This makes her the first in the ranks of Republicans to challenge her former boss, Donald Trump, who in November of last year declared that he will run in the next election, aspiring to regain the leadership of the White House.

She announced the news herself this Tuesday through a video where she stated, among other things, that:

“It’s time for a new generation of leadership – to rediscover fiscal responsibility, secure our border and strengthen our country, our pride and our purpose.”

A few years ago, she herself declared that her husband, Michael Haley, is of Albanian origin and that this made him much closer to the Albanians of Albania and Kosovo, trying for the latter to ensure their full recognition.

On Wednesday, the 51-year-old is expected to present plans for her presidential campaign in a speech in Charleston, South Carolina.
