In the first 6 months of 2024, the registered vehicles are 738,299. Compared to the same period last year, the number of cars increased by 11%.
The number of cars for the group over 15 years for January-June was 541,210 cars according to the data of DPSHTRR (General Directorate of Road Transport Services). Compared to the same period, their number has increased by 11%.
The number of 9- to 15-year-old cars for January-June 2024 was 149,677 cars. Their number increased by about 2%. In the fleet of cars they took 20% of the total.
While the number of cars aged 5 to 8 years for January-June 2024 was 27,672 cars or 57% more than in 2023. In the car fleet, they took about 4% of the total for the period January-June 2024.
New cars, aged from 0 to 4 years, were 19,730. Compared to years, their number has increased by 33%. In the total number of registered cars, they occupy 2.6%.
In the fleet of cars, of the typology with manual transmission, 56.2% of their total, resulting in the status of “active” or “temporarily deregistered” for the first 6 months of 2024, took the largest part.
The highest number of road vehicles was registered in the district of Tirana, accounting for 35% of the total road vehicles registered in the country. Then the highest number of cars for January-June 2024 was in Durrës with 102,290 cars or about 14% of the total. Followed by the city of Fier, where cars account for 9% of the total in the country, and then in Shkodra, where they account for 7%.
