Albania’s Minister of Defense, Pirro Vengu, paid an official visit to Bulgaria this Saturday. During his visit to Novo Selo, Vengu stopped at the NATO Multinational Battlegroup Base.

The minister shared images from the visit in a post on Facebook, noting that he also met with the Italian mission commander, Mattia Scirocco, who spoke about the role played by Albanian troops in the mission. According to Vengu, this is clear evidence of the professionalism, dedication, and reliability of Albanian personnel in every mission they serve.

“Visit to the NATO Multinational Battlegroup, where our personnel from the Northern Infantry Regiment are serving.

It was a source of pride to hear from the Italian mission commander, Mattia Scirocco, that the platoon representing the Albanian Armed Forces plays an active role in the group’s tasks, contributing beyond its predefined mission.

This is clear proof of the professionalism, dedication, and credibility of our personnel wherever they serve under the Alliance’s flag.

Our forces are increasing their operational readiness, enabling Albania to expand its contribution wherever the need arises. Collective security is not abstract: it is built through real presence, political responsibility, and readiness,” Vengu wrote.
