Psychologist Edmond Dragoti told Euronews Albania that domestic violence is an alarming phenomenon, which might show up in the early years.

According to him, children memorize both aggressive and caring behavior from their parents. Also, children pick up a lot from what they see in the household by seeing the relationship that their parents have.

Privileges mainly attributed to boys, as opposed to accountability from girls, are both models that might generate violent behavior in the future, said Dragoti.

The psychologist explains that society is reminded of the dangers of violence only when an incident happens and gets reported in the media.

‘It’s us, the adult society, that stimulates violence through our indifference and through the fact that we seek to fight violence in our surrounding, but then look elsewhere to others’, he concluded.
