The number of children with vision problems is increasing year by year. School doctors who are performing vision screening for all students in 9-year-old schools, say that 1 in 8 children in the 7-15-year-old age group have vision problems. Lazy eye is the one that is most evident.

The doctor asks that both parents and teachers be more vigilant in identifying children who have vision problems but who are not yet aware.

For a long time, experts have warned that the long-term use of technological devices is leading to visual impairment.

In order to catch vision problems in time, from 2022, the application of the national vision screening program has started in all 9-year schools of the country. The preliminary data published by the Ministry of Health for this school year show that 55,030 children have been checked and 7,336 children have had vision problems and have been referred to specialist doctors.
