The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, will address the citizens of Serbia today to inform them of the upcoming elections and the problems that, according to him, the country is facing after the visit of the EU and US delegations.

“It was one of the most difficult days for our country. And I never hide from people when things like this happen. We will have many difficulties and problems which we will have to face in the future, that’s why we need unity”, said Vucic in a video posted on his official Instagram account.

Vucic further stated that he has not been able to take the responsibility he expected from political representatives.

“Unfortunately, they chose to go against Serbia this time as well”, he emphasized.

Meanwhile, ideas have begun to be articulated for a possible resignation of Vucic from the head of the Progressive Party of Serbia.

“Aleksandar Vucic is ready to resign from the post of the chairman of the Progressive Party of Serbia”, said Darko Glishic, chairman of the Executive Committee of the ruling party in Serbia.

He also revealed that a meeting was held at the headquarters of this party regarding the situation in Kosovo, where Vucic said that he is ready to resign from his post.

But according to Glisić “this could be the end of this party in the political scene in Serbia”.

For more than a decade, Vucic continues to hold power, first as prime minister and now as president.
