A 36-year-old man who was wanted by the police is caught by the Saranda Police.

He is accused of being part of a group that trafficked narcotics through the green border with Greece. The anti-drug mega-operation coded “Green Belt” took place in 2019.

“In 2019, the Court for Serious Crimes, Tirana, assigned citizen A.L. the security measure “Arrest in prison”, for the criminal offense “Trafficking in narcotics”, committed in the form of a structured criminal group. The 36-year-old and other citizens (arrested during the international mega-operation “Green Belt”), organized as a criminal group, trafficked narcotics through the green border with Greece,” the police announcement states.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
