Dozens of residents of Lushnja held a protest on Sunday morning, voicing their opposition to what they described as substandard conditions at Lushnja Hospital. The demonstration was initiated by Democratic Party MP Saimir Korreshi.

“The citizens of Lushnja are protesting today for a basic right: dignified healthcare services. Lushnja Hospital cannot continue to operate under these conditions, which do not meet the needs of citizens who are taxpayers and deserve quality healthcare,” participants said during the protest.

During the gathering, protesters expressed their frustration over the lack of adequate conditions and the challenges facing the hospital, calling for urgent intervention to improve services.

“This is an essential service that must be available at all times and provided according to dignified standards, as it concerns the health of citizens,” several protesters stated.

Following the demonstration near the hospital premises, participants marched on foot to the Municipality of Lushnja, where they continued their protest in the city’s central square. The rally concluded with calls for greater investment and improvements to local healthcare facilities and services.

Meanwhile, in a social media post, MP Saimir Korreshi said that the citizens of Lushnja had raised their voices to demand a regional hospital with proper conditions and dignified standards.

“Today, Lushnja spoke. Its citizens demanded a Regional Hospital with dignified conditions and standards for all of us,” Korreshi wrote.
