Serbia will invest more money in its army and defense industry.
The news was announced by the Serbian President, Aleksandar Vucic, during the international defense conference in Abu Dhabi.
Vuci also stated that Serbia has planned to procure 200 heavy weapons of domestic production in 2023 and 2024, which amount to 300 million euros.
Vucic said that Serbian weapons have aroused great interest in Abu Dhabi as well, stressing that he has also discussed the implementation of this plan with the Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabic and the Minister of Finance, Sinisa Mali.
Commenting on what he described as rampant armaments around the world, Vucic said that Prishtina is also planning to buy 100 armored vehicles by the end of the year, partly from donations, which according to him is contrary “to Council Resolution 1244 of the Security of the United Nations”.
According to the president of Serbia, the world has not seen such intense armament in at least the last 70-80 years.
