Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the event on Monday for the presentation of the Digital Identity project, where during his speech he emphasized that Albania is now a leading country in the region when it comes to public services and innovation.
According to him, Albania is fully committed to innovation, having created a solid foundation for the transformation of every sector through technology and, now, also through artificial intelligence.
“We believe that through technology and artificial intelligence we will be able to create entirely new conditions and premises for healthcare services — for ensuring that everyone, regardless of their location, has access to quality observation and treatment. The same applies to the education system. We are working to digitalize the transport system as well, and so on,” said Rama.
He added that Albania is moving rapidly toward the implementation of the Smart City project, which will help digitalize the entire traffic monitoring system in urban areas and provide much stronger capabilities for data collection related to law enforcement and the fight against crime.
“We will have a more comprehensive view of data regarding public order, crime prevention, and real-time insights into daily life in schools. Parents will have greater opportunities to follow their children’s behavior and progress, both in critical moments and on a daily basis. The program is complex — we will take Albania by 2030 to an entirely new level compared to today, empowering citizens and making their everyday lives easier. We will make interactions that currently take more time possible with much less stress,” Rama declared.
