The Central Election Commission (CEC) decided on the division of commissioners in the CEZs for the local elections of May 14.

DP will propose 2 members for each ZEAZ, with representatives from Enkelejd Alibeaj’s grouping. In an interview for Euronews Albania, the lawyer Ledio Braho stated that even if the court grants the party’s seal to Sali Berisha after January 29, there is no deadline for the registration of the members of the CEAZ, as they can be changed at any moment.

According to him, the members of the CEAZs can be changed even after the May 14 elections, when the CEC is in the process of administering the counting of votes.

“Members of CEAZs can be changed by political parties at any moment. History has shown that both the Socialist Party and the Democratic Party change the members of the ZEAZs and the members of the KVCs until the very last moment. Even during the election process, it can happen that a political party wants to replace a member of the CEAZ with another person. It’s a procedure, it’s individual names.

When the Commissioner of Elections makes the decision, it will make the decision, in the 32 CEAZ, the individuals with their first name, surname, and father’s name are appointed as members of the CEAZ. These persons are changeable even after the elections, even after the 14th of May when the CEC is in the process of administering the counting of votes, the members of the CEAZs can be changed”, he emphasized.
