When almost 3 years have passed since the last visit to Albania, the President of Turkey Erdogan returns to Tirana to inaugurate the mosque of Namazgja. During his stay in the Albanian capital, Erdogan will meet his counterpart, Begaj, as well as Prime Minister Rama.
The inauguration of the Namazgja mosque brings back the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to Albania after almost 3 years.
On Thursday, October 10, Erdogan, who will stay only a few hours in the Albanian capital, will participate in the inauguration ceremony of the largest mosque in the region.
For this, in the building which has been completed for several years, the final preparations are being made to receive the Turkish president.
The Namazgja Mosque started work in 2015, while it was planned that after almost 3 years it would finish and open its doors to the faithful, which did not happen and after almost 6 years from that moment, it will be inaugurated by Erdogan.
The investment for its construction captures a value of 30 million euros from the Muslim Community of Turkey. The mosque has a capacity for 5,000 people and an area of 6,000 square meters.
In Tirana, President Erdogan will meet with his Albanian counterpart, Bajam Begaj, as well as with Prime Minister Edi Rama. With the latter, he will also hold a conference with journalists and then leave for Serbia to conduct another official visit.
