The season to start planning the upcoming summer trips of 2024 begins. And one of the most recommended destinations to visit this year between the months of May and September is Albania, located in the heart of the Balkans.

Day 1: Discovering the capital, Tirana

Start your adventure in the bustling capital of Albania, Tirana. Upon landing at the country’s airport, it is recommended to rent a car for more comfort and at your own pace.

During the first day of the route, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere as you explore Skanderbeg Square, the heart of the city, where a statue of the national hero stands. You will have the opportunity to delve into the country’s history and visit the colorful Et’hem Bey Mosque. Don’t miss the chance to try delicious Albanian cuisine at one of the local restaurants.

Day 2: Exploring the ancient city of Berat

During the second day, visit the picturesque city of Berat, known as the “City of a Thousand Windows”. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Berat will surprise you with its medieval charm and stunning panoramic views. Explore the Mangalem neighborhood, with its white stepped houses, and climb up to the Berat fortress to enjoy spectacular views of the valley and the river.

Day 3: Admiring the natural beauty of Gjirokastër and Butrint

Travel to the city of Gjirokastër, another jewel of world heritage. Explore its impressive castle and continue to the ruins of Butrint, an archaeological site also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk among ancient temples, theaters, and fortifications of this ancient city.

Day 4: Relax at Gjipe Beach

There is no better way to end the trip than by visiting the coastal area of the country, where you can relax and rest. Head to the beautiful coast of Gjipe Beach, where you will find some of the most stunning beaches in Albania.
