“White roads” is the newest project presented by Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku this Thursday, it is about the improvement and transformation of rural roads throughout the country.
“We are here for a very interesting project, which will develop rural areas. It is about roads that are considered not visible, in terms of the number of inhabitants they have or the economic development of the area. By identifying them according to priorities, we will do a job that will have an analysis basis”, said Belinda Balluku.
The Deputy Prime Minister explained that the project will be developed by the Albanian Development Fund in cooperation with the country’s municipalities.
“We only need cooperation with the municipalities because they have to be clear about how it will work. They should also be available to raise from human resources to knowledge capacities, let’s say how the project should work,” said Belinda Balluku.
In total, there are nearly 15,000 km of rural roads, and within 7 years, with this intervention, at least 5,000 km of roads are expected to be rehabilitated.
