The former MP of the Democratic Party, Lajla Pernaska, will run for the Municipality of Tirana in the local elections of May 14.
Pernaska will run under the banner of the Justice, Integration and Unity Party (PDIU) and today submitted the application for registration to the Central Election Committee (CEC).
Five candidates will compete for the largest municipality in the country.
The current mayor, Erion Veliaj, is seeking a third term, while the Democratic Party has chosen Roland Bejkon as its candidate.
Belind Kellici is a candidate who emerged from the Primaries from the grouping of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha in PD. Arlind Qori is running with “Levizja Bashke”.
