The General Secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, has reacted after Enkelejd Alibeaj’s announcement to the media that he has decided to withdraw from the position of the commanding chairman of the party.

Bardhi said that he called for an working meeting, the Vice President of the Party Mrs. Jorida Tabaku.

“After I heard the statement of the Vice President of the Party, Mr. Enkelejd Alibeaj, who exercises the responsibility of the leader of the Party, that he renounces the exercise of this responsibility and the duty of the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group, I called to an urgent working meeting to discuss the situation the Vice-President of the Party Mrs. Jorida Tabaku, to evaluate the implementation of Article 46 of the Statute, in this transitional period”, writes Gazment Bardhi.

According to Article 46 of the Statute, in the prolonged absence of the chairman and with his authorization, one of them replaces the Chairman. In the absence of this authorization, including cases of resignation of the President, the General Secretary convenes the National Council, which commands the Vice-President who will lead the Party until the return of the Leader to office or the election of a new Leader.
