The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, delivered his speech at the ceremony for the start of work for the construction of the new National Theatre.

Veliaj said that regarding this project, there is a consensus among artists, but also architects.

According to him, the city needs such a space.

“Today, we are in a situation where we have the greatest consensus of artists, we have the greatest consensus of architects, we have today an agreement that the city needs such a space, just as other fantastic spaces have been built, the Pyramid, the bazaar, the main square, the lake, the national stadium, and many other works”, he emphasized.
