It has been called the greatest love story of all time, or perhaps the most tragic.

The masterpiece “Romeo and Juliet” has come to the Albanian public in a performance at the premises of “Reja” in Tirana.

Under a different spirit and in a brand new concept of the director Dajana Nenaj, the play of the actors came wonderfully through a long dance of love.

“What we have brought differently is that everything is performed live. We have a band performing live, actors performing their characters, as well as dancers involved. It is the message of love, of peace. We wanted to inspire the audience this time”, says Dajana Nenaj, director.

The dream world that embraces Romeo and Juliet came as a tangible and close magic to the audience, for three nights in a row.

The play is a tragedy written early in playwright William Shakespeare’s career about two young “star-crossed lovers” whose deaths ultimately unite their feuding families.

The theatrical production masterfully brings to life Renaissance-era Verona and this haunting love story.
The work has an extraordinary classicist vitality in terms of the amorous vitality between two young people who love each other to death.
