Before starting his electoral campaign on the ground, in the southeastern part of the country, PM Rama decided to start off with a phone call with the local leader of SP in Korça, Niko Peleshi.

Compared to the campaigns of recent days, what comes to the attention is the fact that PM Rama has now decided to change his electoral strategy, as he has started to record or film the conversations he conducts in his car, with local leaders of the socialist party regarding the work that is being accomplished in the areas they cover for.

Oddly enough, the PM also expressed an interest in the work being accomplished by his political adversaries as well.

Conversation: Edi Rama-Niko Peleshi

Rama: No large organizations, no way, we can’t. It’s horrible what they’re doing, they’re putting their lives in jeopardy (implying the opposition). Listen, how about them, how are they, DP and SMI. What’s new?

Peleshi: They keep going with the same style, with denigration, declarations, slandering, personal attacks.

The PM did the same thing on his way to Korca, where he phoned the local leader of SP in the district county of Vlora, Damian Gjiknuri. During their conversation, they also made comments on president Meta.

Conversation: Edi Rama- Damian Gjiknuri

Rama: Will you cause an earthquake in Vlora, or not?! (laughs)

Gjiknuri: I would like to achieve the right victory, should I say that word again, ‘earthquake’. That’s so catchy.

Rama: What about Leskua? What’s up with Leskua [ref. to Bujar Leskaj]?

Gjiknuri: Ok, I guess. Continuing his work, with his electorate.

Rama: How about him, [ref. to Ilir Meta], has he come these days?

Gjiknuri: Who? The president?

Rama: Yeah, the president of football.

Gjiknuri: Yes, yes. The president has come as that’s his job. He comes, masked. He has his own ways, he campaigns. He doesn’t get up on the tribute, he works behind closed doors.
