Young Albanians are not informed about how to vote in local elections.
Asked by the Barometer in Euronews Albania how many ballots there are in the local elections, those who answered I don’t know are mostly young.
18-24 year olds make up 56.7% of this category even though they have the right to vote.
There is a large difference of 34.4% between the 18-24 age group which occupies the largest place and the following age group 25-34 years.
While the curve of the age group of those who do not know how many ballots there comes down when the age increases, only the age group of 65-75 years makes a difference, which occupies 20.3% but still it is a much lower figure compared to the young.
But young people are not informed even about those who decide on the annual budget of the Municipality.
In the list of those who answered I don’t know, 44.9% belong to the 18-24 age group, followed by the 35-44 age group with 33.7%.
Even when it comes to those who decide on taxes and fees, young people are still the least informed. Of those who answered I don’t know, the 18-24 age group accounts for 45.9%, followed by the 45-54 age group with 32.3%, a difference of 13.6%. While the curve that follows only comes down.
