The US Embassy in Tirana has revealed details of ambassador Yuri Kim’s visit to the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) this Thursday.

Through an official announcement, the embassy informed that ambassador Kim met with the head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, to congratulate him on his new leadership position.

During the meeting, Kim reiterated the United States’ support for Albanian prosecutors for the implementation of the Justice Reform, and the crackdown on high-level corruption and organized crime.

“Ambassador Yuri Kim met today with the new Head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, to congratulate him on his new leadership position. She reiterated that the United States will continue to strongly support the implementation of the justice reform, a requirement for Albania’s aspirations to join the European Union. In this regard, and to advance the implementation of the fact that President Biden has identified the fight against corruption as a core national security interest of the United States, we will fully support SPAK prosecutors and investigators as they build on the successes to date and intensify the prosecution criminal charges of high-level corruption and organized crime, in accordance with the law, without fear or favor. “No one is above the law,” the embassy said in their most recent statement.
